This 'Data Protection in Practice' training, will use cross-sector Scottish case studies, including examples from public bodies, charities, arm's-length organisations, education, membership bodies and private sector service environments, with links to UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, ICO guidance and the realities of working within devolved Scottish legal and regulatory contexts.
The course focuses on the decisions practitioners have to make in real-world situations - including information sharing, lawful bases, special category data, DPIAs, data breaches and individual rights. Delegates will leave with a practical framework for making and documenting data-protection decisions in thier own organisation.

Rachel is recognised for her practical and proportionate approach, helping organisations translate complex regulatory and governance requirements into solutions that support operational delivery. She has extensive experience leading governance reviews, developing information management frameworks, improving records management maturity, and supporting organisations through digital transformation and change.
